Worship at Old Stone
Presbyterian Church follows the worship patterns of the Presbyterian and Reformed
tradition. It is conducted with a sense of warmth and openness. During the
school year, lay persons serve with the pastor in leading worship. Bible
readings and preaching based on the Bible form the core of Sunday worship.
All baptized Christians are invited to participate in the Sacrament of The Lord's
Supper. The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated as needed throughout the year and
is open to all children of families in which one parent is an active professing Christian.
Special services throughout the year include Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday,
and Easter Sunrise. Worship at Old Stone Church is at 10:30 a.m. Childcare for infants and
toddlers is provided during the services. Youth Fellowship Time is provided for children who
are age 3 through third grade during the summer months. Please check our
CALENDAR page for special services and programs.

The heart of the Christian gospel is the proclamation that while humanity continues
to be sinful, God's grace has been shown and been given both as forgiveness and power in Jesus Christ.
The objective of Christian Education is to bring the Word of God to individuals, so that as
growing persons they may be helped to know God in Jesus Christ, understand His truth in light of their
own experience, and commit themselves to Him through faith in Christ.
The aim of Christian Education is to nurture all persons within the fellowship of the church,
so that they will be enabled to perceive and accept God's forgiveness and power for new life as revealed
in Jesus Christ, and so grow in wisdom and in power, living as faithful children of God and intelligent,
committed disciples of Jesus Christ.
The task of Christian Education is to teach the Bible, God's inspired Word; present Jesus Christ
as Savior and Lord; relate the Bible to students' lives; train and inspire teachers and leaders; build and
strengthen the church.
Youth Sunday School classes are held during the Morning Worship hour (10:30-11:30) with the children leaving
for their classes following the Children's Message. Classes are organized according to age groupings.
The Adult Sunday School class meets at 9:00 a.m. preceding Morning Worship. The Pastor usually
leads the adult class.
VACATION
BIBLE SCHOOL is a regular feature of the Christian Education program at Old Stone. Usually held
in June during the morning hours, it continues to be a strong outreach program to community families
as well as for congregational families. YOUTH GROUP
activities are planned for middle school and high school age groups. Each year fundraisers
are planned so that in the summer these groups can attend a week-long Workcamp somewhere in the
U.S. Check our church CALENDAR for special educational opportunities throughout the year. |
